Let’s talk about the spectrum analyzer in the toolkit and the importance of it.
In the Planar View, you can see a horizontal orange and red line. Firmware earlier than 4 can only transmit up to the orange line. Firmware 4 and newer can push up to the red line.
Along the bottom, the jagged red line is the noise floor across the full spectrum.
What this means is if the noise floor is above the orange line for pre firmware 4 cells, the cells won’t be able to push past it and the cells won’t be able to transmit through this noise and sleep/wake commands won’t get to the cell.
This is important when choosing what radio channel to run your load cells to pick the channel with the least RF traffic when possible.
In permanent venues, this is easier on initial setup to look at the analyzer prior to installing your kit, but is more challenging touring with being in different venues day to day. That said, all cells firmware 4 and newer should still work in most environments unless there is very heavy RF traffic past the red horizontal line.
Knowing a little bit about these details could help with any troubleshooting or using your kit in the best possible way.
