We are in the game of creating and producing awesome theatre in the Toronto area

Small but Mighty Productions was founded by Caitlin Turner and Melly Magrath in the summer of 2015. Upon graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts in 2014, Caitlin and Melly both began auditioning for theatre and musical theatre roles, and quickly realized how few interesting, dynamic, and captivating female characters currently existed. It seemed like many of the roles available at

tached a female character’s worth to the leading man or his supporting counter part. It was upon this discovery that Caitlin and Melly decided to start producing their own work. The mandate is simple: to create more roles for women in theatre both on and off the stage, with an emphasis on creating and producing new Canadian work. Since starting the company, Small but Mighty Productions has produced seven shows. Some of these shows have been created by Caitlin and Melly directly, but others have been submitted to the company by aspiring playwrights or collaborated upon with interested friends and other people passionate about the company’s goal. One day, Caitlin and Melly hope to have their own theatre hub that can be a safe space for artists to come and create, as well as running their own theatre season from a home base.
