Landing jumps consistently takes a lot of concentrated practice of doing the right drills over and over to build muscle memory, so that you can perform the movement without thinking in a split second.

Next week, I’m running ELEVATE summer camp both on and off the ice with 5 days of intensive sessions both on and off the ice where we will connect drills and skills. I have created a take home booklet for the skaters to keep notes on all the key reminders for the week.

The salchow errors always start with how you enter the jump. For skaters doing a three turn, the biggest tip for you to help fix your jump is to make sure your three turn is controlled. Equal glide in and out of the edge, checked shoulders and strong extension.

Once you have all the positions strong, you can add more speed and quicker timing of the turn and pivot up to jump.
