Award-winning Multi-Instrumentalist, Yiannis Kapoulas, is renowned for his captivating blend of Ethno-Fusion and World Instrumental music, seamlessly weaving together influences from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Latin, Jazz, Classical, and Funk traditions. His virtuosic performances on a variety of exotic stringed instruments have captivated audiences at festivals and concert stages across Canada and abroad. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, to a Greek musical family, Yiannis displayed an extraordinary
connection to music from an early age. He began performing professionally at age five alongside his father and brother, developing a deep appreciation for traditional Greek music while cultivating a distinctive musical voice of his own. After high school, Yiannis moved to Greece, where years of performing and studying immersed him in the country's rich musical traditions. He quickly earned recognition as a sought-after session musician, composer, and producer, collaborating with some of Greece's most respected artists. Known for pushing musical boundaries, Yiannis performs on his signature Ethno III Acoustic and Ethno III Electric instruments—custom-designed and handcrafted by his late father—allowing him to effortlessly blend multiple traditional sounds into one unique musical experience. His original compositions have earned international acclaim, winning multiple songwriting competitions and establishing him as one of Canada's most distinctive world-fusion,
instrumental-music artists.
