In Forum Theatre, audiences are more than spectators. They are invited to step into the action, explore alternatives, and practice responding to real-world challenges in a supportive environment. These interventions are at the heart of our work because they remind us that change is something we can practice together.

As we enter the final week of our Spring Campaign, we're asking for your support to help keep these experiences accessible and impactful. Donations directly support the creation and delivery of Forum Theatre programs that foster dialogue, build understanding, and empower people to take action in their own communities.

Community Impact Snapshot!

This season, we continued bringing interactive, community-based theatre programming to audiences across Ontario through performances, workshops, and collaborative projects focused on dialogue, participation, and social change.

Together with 15 community partners, we engaged more than 1,000 participants through Forum Theatre experiences that created space for reflection, conversation, and meaningful audience engagement. We're especially proud that 95% of participant survey respondents reported learning new strategies to address challenges in the community.

From schools and post-secondary institutions to community organizations and public audiences, these programs demonstrate the power of theatre to spark dialogue, build skills, and strengthen communities.

Thank you to everyone who participated, collaborated, supported, and helped make this work possible.

To support us in bringing more of this impactful work to communities next season, donate to our Spring campaign: https://mixedcompanytheatre.com/donate-now/

One of the most meaningful parts of our Fall production, "Harvest Justice: Twice the Speed of Lightning", was collaborating with artists who share our belief in theatre as a catalyst for social change.

Today, performer Manuel Chaves reflects on his experience working with Mixed Company Theatre and bringing this powerful story to life.

We're excited to continue the journey of "Harvest Justice" next season by taking the production into schools, where it can spark important conversations about migrant workers' rights, civic responsibility, and the realities of Canada's Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program.

If you believe in the power of theatre to educate, inspire, and create meaningful dialogue, we invite you to support our Spring Campaign. Your donation will help us bring "Harvest Justice" to more students and communities, while supporting other impactful projects planned for the coming season.

We're excited to share that in our upcoming season, we plan to tour our newly developed Forum Theatre production, "Worn with Pride", to communities across Toronto!

"Worn with Pride" was developed through theatre workshops and conversations with 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults and tells a universal story drawn from the shared experiences, histories, and perspectives that emerged out of this collaborative process. Through storytelling, participation, and dialogue, the production creates space for intergenerational conversation while celebrating the voices, histories, and experiences of older 2SLGBTQIA+ community members.

A few weeks ago, we hosted a script feedback reading and received valuable insights from community members, artists, and advocates. Their contributions will help shape the next draft of this powerful production as we continue preparing to bring it to community spaces throughout Toronto.

Support for projects like this helps us continue creating accessible, socially engaged arts programming that brings people together through dialogue, connection, and shared experience.

Today, we're spotlighting one of the projects planned for our upcoming season: "Harvest Justice: Twice the Speed of Lightning", an interactive Forum Theatre production exploring the realities faced by migrant agricultural workers in Canada.

Through storytelling, audience participation, and dialogue, the production invites students and communities to engage with conversations around labour, migration, workplace safety, and systemic inequality. Developed through a community-engaged process and drawing from real migrant worker experiences, "Harvest Justice" creates space for reflection, empathy, and critical discussion about how to support workers in Canada's Seasonal Agricultural Workers program.

As part of our 2026–27 programming, we’re working to bring this production to students and educational communities across Ontario. Forum Theatre is designed not only to be watched, but experienced collaboratively, encouraging audiences to step into the conversation, explore different perspectives, and imagine possibilities for change together.

Support for projects like "Harvest Justice" helps us continue creating accessible, socially engaged theatre that connects communities through dialogue, participation, and storytelling.

The second image has an audience member’s testimonial in the middle from the production of “I Carry with Me” stating “‘I Carry with Me’ is an exceptional play, highlighting the abuse and discrimination that happens that most white people do not experience.
