I am beyond excited to present my first ever gallery exhibition— Here & Home in collaboration with for the Mayworks Festival. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to curate an impactful exhibition that celebrates the stories of migration, labour and legacy. This is a rare opportunity for me to cultivate an artful space of belonging and reminiscence for the Afro Caribbean community. To share memories as a conscious act of reclamation, and merge the worlds of here and home.

I’m especially thankful for the wonderfully talented artist I’ve gotten to work with to make this exhibit come to life — will be presenting a portrait series, has choreographed a dance piece on Super 8 Film captured by and is sharing the gift of her powerful poetry✨

“Kemet is the original meaning of the word Alchemy, which is: Al (as a connotation of the Arabic word Allah: al-, the + ilah, God) means "The God," Also Al (Hebrew) for "highest" or El "God." Chem or Khem is the origin of kimia (Greek χυμεία) which means "to fuse or cast a metal." Also from Khem, the ancient name of Egypt. The synthesis is Al-Kimia: "to fuse with the highest" or "to fuse with (Neb-Er-Tcher) God of the most outer limits, or The Most High."
