What a year! Usually as the holidays hit we become quite reflective on what we've learned from the last year...Well have I got some realizations for you. PLEASE READ the only blog post I've written in 2014 to date...feel free to comment on the blog, share it, love it or hate it...it was a realization that took many months to confront and it just puts me in an even stronger position to make a difference in the lives of children. It is not the end of something...it is just the beginning!!!

It has been many months since I’ve written a blog post as I have been dealing with some life changing events. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you the lessons that I learned from my experience.

KCS has power so camp is still on for today

Remember that today is Cabin Photo day. We ask that campers wear plain colours and that their clothes have no logos. NO WHITE.

Update: Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 - 11:00am

We have been in communication with Toronto Hydro and there is still no indication on when the power will be restored at KCS.

Royal York and Islington subway stations have been restored so that is a good sign :)

And we apologize again for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Our Head Staff team will be calling all families today to let them know what the plan is moving forward.

We have been in contact with Toronto Hydro to see when the power will be on.

Update: Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 - 7:00am

We just received the final word. KCS is still without power. Unfortunately, we MUST cancel camp programming today due to Health and Safety Reasons.

We are holding EMERGENCY DAY CARE at 124 Merton, Suite 403 for any family who requires it. Please contact the Camp Director (Erin) at 647-888-0438 or the Program Administrator (Charlotte) at 647-864-2455 to confirm your attendance.

We thank you for your understanding and patience. We acknowledge the inconvenience this has caused on our families. We will contact you today when we have more information about how to proceed.

Update: Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 - 6:30am

As of right now the power is still out at KCS. However, the Facilies Manager has instructed us to wait until 7:00am to cancel programming for the day.

In the event of a cancellation, we will be holding EMERGENCY DAY CARE for any family who requires it at the Merton Office.

If you would like to speak to the Camp Director (Erin) please call 647-888-0438. You may also speak with the Program Administrator (Charlotte) at 647-864-2455.

We will be updating you as soon as we have more information.

Horizon Arts Camp (H.A.C.) is an exciting professional performing (music, dance, theatre) and visual arts camp with a balance of traditional camp activities and a focus on leadership development.
