As we prepare to celebrate the 20th anniversary of BIG on Bloor this weekend, we are continuing to closely monitor Toronto's air quality due to wildfire smoke.
At this time, the festival is proceeding as planned.
Forecasts indicate that conditions are expected to improve as Saturday progresses, and our team will continue monitoring updates from Environment Canada and Toronto Public Health.
The health and safety of our community—including our visitors, artists, performers, vendors, volunteers, staff, and neighbours—remains our highest priority.
To help everyone enjoy the festival safely, we encourage you to:
• Stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.
• Consider wearing a well-fitting mask (such as an N95 or KN95), especially if you are spending extended periods outdoors or are sensitive to smoke.
• Reduce strenuous activity if you begin experiencing symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, or irritation.
• If you have health concerns, please take extra precautions and make the decision that is best for you.
Masks and water will be available for festival staff and volunteers, and our team will continue to assess conditions throughout the weekend.
Thank you to our incredible artists, performers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and community for your patience, understanding, and support. We look forward to celebrating 20 years of art, culture, music, and community together—safely.
We'll continue to share updates as conditions change. Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating wildfires.
