Blue Flame Collective

Blue Flame Collective A Cinema Collective Co-Founded by Creative Director: Evert Houston & Creative Producer: Oliver Ward in 2012. A blue flame is a crafted fire.

The BFC is an independent film movement built on the foundation of genuine, no nonsense, hard work. The Blue Flame Collective is a film production community born in the heart of Toronto’s East Village: The Film District. It is a work group driven to develop, produce and promote original content created by its members. The Collective believes the strength of the individual is amplified by the powe

r of the collective whole. It is the pinnacle of heat at the point of ignition. Inspired by the poetic potency of this idea, the Blue Flame Collective also embraces the remarkable perseverance historically attributed to the working class inhabitants who built Toronto’s East Side. Motivated by the spirit of this ingenuity and grit, the Collective diligently refines their craftsmanship and its effectiveness. Special attention is placed upon the development of new work that truthfully celebrates the culturally diverse and socially eccentric cityscape that is Toronto. It is an assembly of artists with a perceptive vision and articulate voices developing entertaining and thought provoking cinematic work. It is a new generation of cinema creators burning away the prevalent attitudes of civic negativity, American comparisons and national artistic ambivalence with a spirit of optimistic hard work, defining a new chapter in Canadian Film History. This is a scorching hot community of doers, igniting a prosperous, independent industry of artistic abundance – no apologies. Come join us by the fire.
