It's been a while since I posted something. I was not gonna catch the rythm. Then, I had a dream that's unexplainable as I am watching all the r**e stories all over my wall. Like other times, some are pushing off responsibilities between genders, some are talking about imposing strict laws and there are some who never bothered. Anyways, I want to share some thoughts that I am carrying in my mind.
As a male individual,
In brown culture, we play the most part to prevent this problem as we were taught to be superior than our sisters for no reason but gender orientation. So, there are certain things we can do to uproot or at least bring the possibility down to the minimum for r**e case. However, it has to be codependent process to stop such a social issue.
Talk-- Talk among your friends. Maybe that saved another victim you wouldn’t ever know. Please please please do not ever tell that the victim alone is responsible for not obeying our so called cultured society norms. That's the least you can do.
Volunteer for the community-- If it's not your friends or family today and you decide to walk away being a silent audience, trust me bro the day is not so far when it will come to your friends and family. Don't misinterpret. You don’t have to take a massive action on the spot and risk your own life. Since the law enforcements are not reliable anymore, you should get help from the neighbour environment or individuals you can trust. Be good with your time.
Don't Market youselves. Nobody stays fresh forever. So, staying low key will not cost you anything. It does not mean that you can't feel good about yourself. Of course, you can. Just try to avoid those disgusting lust-filled eyes.
Make it clear that you are not interested at all. In case, the friendliness or welcoming behaviour are misinterpreted to a h***y s*x machine to the potential ra**st, please try to communicate appropriately.
Be aware-- be aware of your surroundings, read the body languages, immediately leave the environment as soon as you feel unsafe.
Be resistant-- You might often get criticized for being extra cautious. No matter what, you think about your safety at first.
Don't joke around-- Do not ever take it lightly or mix it sarcasm. You might never realise the condition he/she has gone through.
Parent good-- it seems like more than the half of our problems could have been erased through good parenting. We need to give an ear to our children. Teach our children about the importance of consent. Guide and be supportive to manage the s*xual urge.
Be patient-- Trust but keep your eyes open. Take time to be friend with the newly introduced person. Let the person trust you before you trust them. Don't hesitate to say NO for anything in this evil world. Weight the consequences.
Train youself-- Practice what you would do if this is the moment you have to save yourself. Use your imagination power and be prepared. You have to help yourself. Can take some self defense course.
Finally(not sure how to put it right), if you are a victim, your silence will encourage the ra**sts for their next target. It cuts both ways, however, find a way at least to talk about it anonymously.
You name it and we should do it to STOP it right now. More than half of our population is female. We will never progress leaving them behind.
Things that are not enough( definitely helps till some point):
Borkha
Daylight
Teaching only females to do their part
Segregating yourself from the rest of the world
Going out with someone
Keyboard Warriors
I am a male individual by myself. But I can't imagine someone going through that suffering. I would rather kill myself. I can't even listen to a testimony.
Ra**ng is not supported in any defined masculinity. It makes you coward who could not overcome your own urge. Don't call yourself a man, you don’t belong to us.
