The future of Canadian horror starts with new voices. 🩸

We’re excited to introduce the New Blood Creators Forum, a brand-new national initiative from Blood in the Snow Film Festival designed to bring emerging Canadian genre filmmakers inside the beating heart of BITS.

The New Blood Creators Forum is a guided journey into Canada’s horror and genre film community. 🩸

Selected participants will purchase a New Blood Creators Forum pass, giving them a front-row seat to the BITS Horror Development Lab, Deadly Exposure Industry Conference, and festival programming — observing live pitches, attending industry panels and networking events, taking in curated screenings, and connecting with filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, and other industry professionals.

And you won’t be navigating it alone.

Participants will move through the festival as part of a small, curated cohort led by our New Blood Creators Forum Coordinator, creating a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, build confidence, make meaningful connections, and experience firsthand how genre projects move from idea to screen.

If you’re an emerging Canadian filmmaker ready to learn, connect, and find your place within Canada’s horror and genre film community, this program was created for you.

🩸 Blood in the Snow is proud to introduce BITS Nightshift, a new series of branded industry mixers taking place nightly during the 2026 festival at the Tranzac Club.

Designed to connect, support, and champion Canada’s genre film community beyond the festival itself, BITS Nightshift will create new opportunities to network, learn, collaborate, and engage with fellow filmmakers and industry professionals.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing our partners and sharing more details on how to get involved.
