Things to do if you are Self Isolating

Many people are following the strong recommendations set forth by Toronto Public Health, PHAC, the Ontario and Federal Governments and staying home for 14 days or so. Remember to eat well, keep hydrated, take any medications you may need and connect with the outside world by phone, email or video chats.

After discussions between the PAL Toronto Executive, and a phone call made by our Supporting Cast to the Toronto Department of Public Health, we have made the decision to stop all public gatherings in our common spaces until further notice.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 virus a pandemic. We're not there yet, obviously, but common sense dictates that with our elderly, vulnerable population, some of whom have underlying health conditions, we take this extra precaution.

This means that the Celebrity Club will be closed until we can be certain that our PAL residents, members and our visiting artists are safe.

The World Health Organization published a report that synthesizes the global evidence on the role of the arts in improving health and well-being. Results from over 3000 studies identified a major role for the arts in the prevention of ill health, promotion of health, and management and treatment of illness across the lifespan.

It's a very interesting read- jump to page 52 for the findings summary!
