I’ve got a small stock of my book, Unframed: Canadian Immigrant Artist Anthology.
Please send me a DM if you’d like a copy. I’m happy to coordinate shipping or pickup in Toronto.
This book features four other artists, and together we reflect on how Canada has shaped and influenced our artistic practices and the stories behind our work.
In my chapter, I share a more intimate side of myself, diving into my childhood, what it was like growing up biracial, the stories that inspired certain paintings, and, more importantly, the experiences that shaped me into the artist I am today. This is also the first time I’ve ever written in this way, which feels both vulnerable and incredibly meaningful.
While writing, I found myself revisiting moments of self-doubt, adversity, and the microaggressions that quietly shape how we move through the world. My hope is that, in sharing these experiences, others who have felt unseen, misunderstood, or caught between identities might find a piece of themselves in these pages. If my story resonates with even one person and reminds them that they are not alone in their journey, then sharing it will have been worth it.
