We have updated some of our policies for upcoming markets. Please take a minute to read these, as they apply to all customers and vendors.
Animals
Due to complaints by customers and vendors, as well as overall safety issues, animals welcome at our markets will now be restricted exclusively to guide dogs/service animals. As per Ontario law, these will require either an appropriately marked vest or harness, or a letter from a regulated health professional. All other animals, including emotional support animals, will no longer be permitted, even in a closed carrier.
Meta Glasses/Photos & Recording
In compliance with new policies by our venue, Ground Control, Meta (or similar) glasses will not be permitted on the premises.
Additionally, customers may not record vendors or their wares, by any means.
Vendors will still be permitted to film/photograph their own set-up and, with permission, that of other vendors, for promotional purposes only.
Media representatives who wish to record vendors or their work as part of a published story for an accredited site/outlet should contact TDAM directly to acquire a media pass.
Kids/Family-Friendly
While we have previously billed our event as “family-friendly” to indicate that children are welcome, some people have taken that to mean that we adhere to conservative guidelines that restrict certain types of imagery or products.
To be clear; TDAM is a wholly 2SLGBTQ+ positive organization, we welcome, love, and respect our q***r community, and include them, and their work, at every event.
Visitors are welcome to bring well-behaved children into the market as long as they are in the care of a parent or guardian at all times, but our vendors will never be required to cover or censor their work because of the presence of children.
Also, most of us curse like sailors.
Our market skews to an adult audience, and often includes oddity-type animal specimens, taxidermy, sharp instruments like swords, fe**sh gear, products that include swear words or images of genitalia, and occasionally items of a sexual nature, or that refer to sexual or gender preferences.
Please keep these points in mind when planning your visit.
