Presented at in the Bay Street Promenade from July 12 -28, the second half of our Race Cards (In Two Acts) project, The 10x10 COMMISSION, opens a broader dialogue inspired by Race Cards through ten professional artists creative response to these questions over a rigorous creation period facilitated by : resulting in ten new études (short works) that grapple with urgent questions about race and identity.

Don’t miss this incredible free installation, featuring some of Canada’s premiere artists and thinkers - choreographers Andrea Nann and Esie Mensah, playwrights Sarena Parmar, Germaine Konji, and Tommi.b.Coyote (Zach), theatre artist Rayna Masterton, and composers Alexandra Kane, Leslie Ting, and Aubrey Dayle.

✨ Community Workshop: 6-7PM
This creation workshop is dedicated to reframing the creative process and unlocking great storytelling through the reclaiming of personal narrative and delving into cultural specificity.

✨ Open Mic: 7-8:30PM
Featuring Jane-Finch artists and hosted by Fatuma Adar! All artist mediums welcome!

This community event is an extension of Race Cards (in Two Acts), a Prime Mover Theatre Company production in partnership with artist Selina Thompson. Race Cards (in Two Acts) grapples with urgent questions about race and identity, while opening up a broader dialogue through art and participation.
