🚨 $4,688 TO GO. 7 DAYS LEFT. 🚨

With just one week remaining in our Sing.Soar.Succeed. Giving Sprint, we're only $4,688 away from reaching our $30,000 goal.

This Giving Sprint was launched to help accelerate progress toward our larger 2026 Sing.Soar.Succeed. Campaign goal of $300,000—a bold investment in the future of young artists and the continued growth of the Canadian Children's Opera Company.

The response so far has been inspiring. Thanks to the generosity of donors, alumni, families, and friends, we've come remarkably close to our Giving Sprint target. Because we're within reach of the finish line, we're extending the campaign until June 30.

Now we need your help to get us across the line.

Every gift made during this final week helps us reach our Giving Sprint goal while building momentum toward our broader campaign—supporting exceptional music and drama training, meaningful performance opportunities, bursary assistance, and a welcoming community where young people can develop confidence, creativity, and leadership.

The finish line is in sight. Will you help us get there?

Make your gift today and help young people Sing. Soar. Succeed.

🎉 BINGO! Did you know that when you play bingo, you're helping support local charities like the Canadian Children's Opera Company?

The CCOC is proud to be a participating charity in the Charitable Gaming. Community Good. program through Rama Gaming House – Toronto East. Through the dedication of our volunteer representatives and the generosity of community members who participate in charitable gaming, funds raised help support the CCOC's programs for children and youth across the Greater Toronto Area.

These contributions help us provide transformative music education, performance opportunities, and artistic experiences that empower young people to develop confidence, creativity, leadership skills, and a lifelong love of music.

As we celebrate Provincial Bingo Week, we're grateful for the many ways our community comes together to support local charities. Bingo is more than a game—it's a meaningful way to invest in organizations that enrich the lives of people throughout Ontario.

Thank you to Charitable Gaming. Community Good., Rama Gaming House – Toronto East, our volunteers, and everyone who participates. Your support helps ensure that young singers can continue to learn, perform, and thrive through the arts.

When you play, local charities win! 💙

Don’t miss your chance to see the Canadian Children’s Opera Company in the Canadian Opera Company production of Werther! The opera closes this Saturday, May 23.

The opera is rarely produced, with previous COC productions taking place in 1992 and 1980. These photos offer a special glimpse at generations of young singers who have experienced Werther as part of their artistic training and performance journey with the CCOC.

Which alumni do you spot?

These images capture more than moments on stage; they reflect generations of choristers growing as musicians, storytellers, and leaders through unforgettable experiences with the COC.

🎉 Happy 58th Birthday to the Canadian Children’s Opera Company! 🎉

In early 1968, a bold idea of creating a children’s chorus for the Canadian Opera Company took shape around a table in Toronto—sparked by the visionary Ruby Mercer and a passionate group including conductor Lloyd Bradshaw, music administrator Edith Binnie, and music teacher Katherine Brown. Just months later, that vision was formalized with the company’s incorporation on April 30, 1968. What began as a dream for a children’s opera chorus quickly became a vibrant, living legacy.

From those first rehearsals at St. George’s United Church to performing on stage in La Bohème with the COC, the CCOC has spent nearly six decades developing young voices and young people through exceptional musical training and performance.

Today, we celebrate the thousands of young artists, families, educators, and supporters who have shaped—and continue to shape—this extraordinary community.

Here’s a look back on 58 years of creativity, collaboration, and storytelling—and to the future voices still to come.

There are too many photos and meaningful moments to share in one post, but here’s a look back on some of the people and inspiring moments from this one-of-a-kind organization.
