Chickens of the Throne

7 × 9 in / 18 × 23 cm

One hen always seems to find the highest place in the yard. Whether by chance or quiet confidence, she stands just a little above the flock while the others go about their day.

Sometimes the simplest moments tell the best stories.

What story do you see in this little gathering? 🐓

I accidentally walked into Sala Parés in Barcelona while exploring the city, and I really didn’t expect to be so impressed by this gallery.
Sala Parés

It’s a very bright and spacious space, and I really loved the exhibition itself. There are several exhibitions taking place at the same time, each with its own atmosphere and space.

I was especially drawn to the work of Garikoitz Cuevas. Large panels, lots of colour, very interesting texture and abstract compositions. You look at them and start wondering: is it textile or painting?
Garikoitz Cuevas Abeledo

And the work of Antonio Barahona simply pulled me in. His light is incredible. He creates it through such a beautiful balance of warm and cool colours that I just wanted to stand there and look.

Full Yard
Watercolour & ink on paper
45 × 45 in / 114 × 114 cm

A yard full of different personalities, colours, and rhythms. Painted from memory and imagination, this flock is less about individual birds and more about the quiet energy that emerges when they come together.

Sheep spread across the field, each adding its own shape and rhythm to the scene. Painted with watercolour, letting the texture of the paper become part of the landscape.

Monday Morning Mood

Watercolour on paper
11 × 15 inches (28 × 38 cm)
A wet crow with raised feathers and an uncertain look, caught in a moment of complete confusion. Its awkward posture and expressive face turn an ordinary encounter into a small, humorous story.
Who else has had a morning like this?
