Before going viral on X and expanding into a 100-seat venue, Keys Comedy Club was one of Toronto’s best-kept secrets.

Some comedians still tell us their favourite memories happened in the club’s unconventional original setup — packed crowds, intimate moments, and the feeling that something special was being built from the ground up. What started as a hidden gem is now becoming part of Toronto comedy history, but those who were there from the beginning know there was something magical about those early nights.
audiences used to complain about our unconventional setup. It was rough around the edges, hidden away, and unlike anything else in Toronto. Some called it sketchy. Some didn’t understand it. Fans who experienced it know there was something special happening in that room. They kept it to themselves and kept comming back consistently every week, comedians knew we would blow up shortly and the hidden gem would go mainstream.
Now that Keys Comedy Club has grown into a legitimate licensed venue, we’re hearing the opposite: people wishing they had the chance to experience the original location a hidden gem before it became mainstream. They like the modern day vibes, KeyEpic said we will keep the brick wall to keep the grungy sketchy vibe that the original die hard fans LOVED, and kept comming back to see in tribute to the first location
