On October 1, 1996, after a summer of planning, Fish launched Indie Pool Ottawa while I launched Indie Pool Vancouver, helping bands manage their local CD retail consignments. Within months we knew we had something more. I left my Vancouver office to Joe, Fish left the Ottawa office to Todd, and we both moved to Toronto with big ambitions. From our Thorncliffe Park Drive apartment, we swore to improve the lives of independent artists. Today, as I reflect on 25 years and honour Fish's memory, the thing that I remember most is the great people I got to work with. From Fish all the way to the incomparable Nick today, it's been such a privilege to spend my days with and learning from so many wonderful people. We were constantly challenged, pushed to the brink, forced to adapt. Somehow, while everything around us changed or crumbled, we survived. It was an honour to face these exciting times with you all. Thank you for contributing your part to this story. Thank you for your energy, for your creativity, and for all the laughs. I hope your memories are as warm as mine and that you still carry around a little Indie Pool with you every day. Cheers to all the Poolers. xo Gregg
