When I was 4 years old, I wanted to be an artist.
But poverty and outside voices told me I couldn’t be one.
“Artists don’t make money”
“You’ll starve”
“You only become famous when you’re dead”
I lived with these “truths”, stifling the true dream of creating art and teaching art.
Instead of OCAD, I went to UofT. Instead of pursuing art, I pursued engineering and biology. Instead of taking a risk, I stayed small.
It’s been 2-3 years of finally embracing my true dream. It’s been hard. It’s been beautiful. I have starved. I have not made lots of money. But it’s those bright days and people, who say to me
“You’ll do great things”
“That’s beautiful”“Keep going”
That make this very, very hard journey that much more worth it.
Thank you for the love & support through the years 💕 I hope I can continue to keep pursuing my dream by making and teaching art for you! ☁️
