From July 28 to August 3, One Harp World 2026 brought together more than a thousand harpists, educators, researchers, composers, and music lovers from around the world in Toronto. 🎶
Supported by the Yunus Emre Institute and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, The Turkish Harp Project proudly represented Türkiye throughout the congress with a comprehensive program of concerts, workshops, lecture-recitals, exhibitions, demonstrations, and interactive presentations, introducing the traditional Turkish harp (çeng), the Turkish Harp Music Collection, and the rich traditions of Turkish music to an international audience.
Throughout the week, internationally acclaimed harpist Şirin Pancaroğlu, harpist Zeynep Duru Güleç, and music researcher Seymen Özdeniz welcomed visitors to The Turkish Harp Project exhibition booth, where participants explored the Turkish Harp Music Collection and learned about the history, revival, and contemporary repertoire of the traditional Turkish harp.
The program featured daily “A Çeng Moment” demonstrations, “Exploring Turkish Tunes” workshops, The Turkish Harp Daily Draw, lecture-recitals, performances, and concerts. Through these activities, participants discovered the unique musical language of Türkiye, explored the historical journey of the çeng, and experienced both traditional repertoire and contemporary compositions inspired by Turkish musical heritage.
Throughout the congress, The Turkish Harp Project created meaningful opportunities for cultural dialogue, artistic exchange, and international collaboration, introducing Türkiye’s rich musical heritage to the global harp community.
