We just secured a new home for, a Jackson Po***ck painting called Number 7A (1948) sold for a record $181.2 million at Christie’s in NYC. The massive 11-foot painting had bidders battling for around 7 minutes before the winning bid landed at $157M, with auction fees pushing the final total above $181M.
The piece came from late media mogul S.l.
Newhouse’s private collection and became the most expensive Po***ck ever sold at auction. Christie’s also sold more than $1.1 BILLION worth of art in a single night. The buyer has not been publicly identified.
