Meet the conductor and director bringing Verdi’s beloved LA TRAVIATA to life this fall.

🥂 Paolo Carignani, Conductor
One of Italy’s leading conductors, Paolo Carignani has led productions at some of the world’s most renowned opera houses. He served as chief conductor of the Oper Frankfurt from 1997–2008 and, most recently, as chief conductor of the Royal Danish Orchestra.

🥂 Arin Arbus, Director
Arin Arbus returns to the COC with her acclaimed production of LA TRAVIATA, following an extraordinary run in 2022 that earned 8 Dora Award nominations, including Outstanding Direction. She has also directed LA TRAVIATA for Houston Grand Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Arbus is celebrated for her bold, psychologically rich approach to great dramatic works.
