Fallen Empires...with the closing of The Bay, it brought back memories of all the businesses that have come and gone from the Canadian landscape. From Blackberry to Beaver Lumber, to god knows how many airlines over the years. Not only Canadian giants but American companies who have tested the Canadian retail waters only to fail in the end. This was a real trip down memory lane, thinking about the joys of getting the Consumer' Distributing catalog just in time for the Holidays, or going to the yearly Legoland take over of an entire area of The Bay to riding the Greyhound or buying the latest CD at Sam the Record Man.There are so many fond memories here, but nothing lasts forever.
