Where all our gardens meet" (2023-26) searches the past and the present for a future free from fences, walls, and borders. In our gardens, the dirt makes the worm's work invisible. In the work of world-building, invisibility both isolates and protects us, whether our struggle is located at the housing action, after a bad doctor's appointment, under a quilt, across the dance floor, in a Signal call, or when we have a fight.
Within each capsule of this installation, textile-based worms crawl over books, zines, craft supplies, and each other. They reveal glimpses of the sometimes joyful and often messy work of world building, but keep much of it a secret. The worms beckon us to search both our gardens and ourselves for where the work we inherit is felt, even when it is hidden or out of reach.
