For our fourth and final installment of the residency series, .planet.sd has carefully selected a line up, both near and far, to celebrate this last month of summer in sonic bliss. This event is inspired by earthly connections, organically tethered like grapes in the wild, on a trail that reveals the light in rare and beautiful form, to melt your body into the warm August air.

이끼‘s (Lichen) DJ selections are informed by their training as a performing violinist. Infused with a tradition of Korean shamanism (무속), Lichen cultivates a swampy and grounding blend of techno, trance and DnB.

New SD resident Cape Esan is a rising DJ and producer establishing roots in Hamilton and Toronto. Finally, SD happily invites DF Cuke as our final guest on this stacked bill, flying over from Vancouver to enjoy the evening with us 🧞‍♂️ With an assortment of songs causing chronic stank face - symptoms include, but are not limited to; uncontrollable hip sway, spontaneous head nods, and (most dangerous of all) an inability to go for a smoke break. Catch his set later in the month as well with our friends over at 🪄

Let's enjoy every bit of summer together while we can!! 🌏 As usual, the night kicks off with open decks, 8-10pm.

We’re excited to announce the Toronto debut of the Montréal-based mastermind behind LATEX., ! Crissemarqueur is a DJ // rave curator, co-founder of and artistic director of both .mtl & .mtl

With LATEX., Crissemarqueur brings a new and contagious energy to the Montreal kink and rave scenes, while creating a (much-needed) safer space for BIPOC, q***r, and marginalized crowds/artists, allowing them to express themselves and be celebrated for who they are.

While they define their sound as eclectic, listeners will find that Crissemarqueur explores candidly their North African roots, through percussive tracks characterized by sensual guides. Heavy kicks and fragmental embellishments partnered with tender suggestions are balanced in a collection of techno nuances.

Joining Crissemarqueur are Toronto locals HVN, grrlcrrsh and Chumbo!

focuses on the intersection between texture and space. They employ an emphasis on euphoric sonic palettes that make you move and feel. Consistently providing the hottest dance floors in Toronto with eccentric sets that draw on bass heavy, expansive sonic pallets that are accompanied by forward thinking percussive expressions. With their finger firmly on the pulse of Toronto’s underground nightlife scene, HVN’s selections are a testament to their prowess as a DJ and curator.

is a genre fluid vibrarian with an affinity for sassy, sexy soundscapes. Guided by a spirit of boundless optimism & playful experimentation, their sets skew from eclectic to electric - favouring heavy bass, sultry percussion, global rhythms & cheeky hooks to build a sensually delightful sonic adventure that is artfully curated for any kind of atmosphere.

Chumbo aka is a DJ and cofounder of Chumbo’s sound is influenced by both Indian classical music and club hits. Expect heavy percussion, bass, breaks and downtempo grooves.

Within the local tattoo community, Mano has spent the last few years honing their skills and creating spaces for other artists to grow. As the studio lead of what was once known as 407_studio, Mano is shifting gears and setting their eyes on new sights. In celebration of these tidings, we have partnered up with Mano in co-hosting the grand re-opening of their studio (1228 Dupont St.). This evening will feature two parts: a soirée (from 8-10PM), and a rave (10PM onwards).

Cherry Chip joins us for the evening with her genre-bending selections & indelible posture. Cherry Chip combines rhythms of footwork, acid-techno, breakbeat and bass, all the while navigating the interplay of playfulness and intensity in a way that promises to catch you off guard. If you remember Cherry Chip from their Nuit Blanche Trinity set back in September, you’ll know what’s comin’ for ya.

With his career now spanning over a decade, has established himself as a veteran of the Toronto dance music scene. Eytan has DJ’d at countless raves, hosted multiple radio shows, and has booked some of his biggest influences (Kush Jones, DJ Paypal, Champion, LSDXOXO, DJ Deeon, Ana Morgan, DJ Taye). His post-COVID return has seen his experimental productions leaning further and further into club-oriented arrangements - with heavy influence from Chicago Footwork, Jungle, and Jersey club. Eytan was recently focused on a club music bi-monthly, “Work-That”, which he co-founded and co-curated.

Within our collective, Third Planet is known for eclectic mixing acumen and his repetoire (seriously you should check his bandcamp collection). He’ll be starting off our evening with the bendiest of sonic offerings, and prep us all for an evening of mayhem. If you’re lucky, you might be able to peep one of his new tracks, coming out later this year 😉

Our team is pleased to announce that we have partnered up with our friends at to begin a six month long residency at their beloved space 🎪

Since Tapestry first opened their doors, their venue has been a blessing to the local arts community - a place welcoming patrons and performers of many disciplines and walks of life.

This series aims to remove barriers of entry and provide opportunities for people to explore their curiosities in DJ’ing or live performance.

So on the first Thursday of the next 6 months, each of our residents will be curating a roster of various up and coming local artists to bring pleasure to your ears and the hop in your step 👟

At the beginning of each residency night, we will be providing open deck slots for anyone who would like to come spin some tunes earlier in the evening and practice.

And to continue with the spirit of inclusion, we are adopting a sliding scale / pay-what-you-can door fee for our residency nights, so all members of the community may attend at will.

Lastly - if you are an artist who is interested in working with our collective (be it this series or otherwise), please drop us a line/mix/tracks at our email in our bio 🔨

After a period of repose, self-reflection and design, our crew is ready to wander back to the frontier and plunge headfirst into the deep-end.

Getting our year started will be none-other than the Toronto-based veteran DJ, promoter, and mainstay, .

Known as a regular of the local DIY rave circuit, Kehdo has played alongside legends of the industry such as DJ Stingray, Paula Temple, Daniel Bell, Jasmine Infinity, and Jean-Luc De Meyer. Her visceral mixes lean on rubbery techno, gritty electro, and progressive breakbeat.

As a promoter, you know her as 1/3rd of .presents, a local collective dedicated to serving up boundary-pushing international acts and building the future sounds of Toronto.

We’re also incredibly excited to invite - otherwise known as Chumbo - to his first SD set. A DJ and a co-founder of the local collective Not a BBQ, Ayush serves slices of bass, techno, tribal, hip-hop, and world music with dexterity.

Sandwich residents .shiner and DJ will be making their return to support this stacked line-up, both itching to dust off their favourite wintery tracks they’ve carefully stockpiled during hibernation.

We are absolutely buzzing to announce that we have invited the inimitable DJ, producer, and label head of , to our dance floor this upcoming October 7th.

Based in Bristol, UK, Batu has become a multi-faceted talent—DJ, producer, and the brain behind the Timedance label. Since breaking onto the scene in 2013, he's become known for his innovative approach to UK bass music. His discography spans multiple labels like XL Recordings and Hessle Audio, but it's his own Timedance imprint that truly defines his pioneering sound. Gaining critical acclaim for EPs and remixes, he's also earned spots on top DJ lists by Mixmag and The Guardian. With worldwide tours and festival performances, Batu and Timedance are redefining UK dance music on a global scale.

Supporting Batu will be none other than Emissive and Sandwich resident Third Planet.

Toronto-based DJ & producer Emissive blends 90s electronic influences with modern sound design to create unique, evocative music. His latest EP, Unseen Measures, gained industry buzz and critical acclaim on RA & DJ Mag amongst others. 2023 has found Emissive performing at events such as Boiler Room and MUTEK Montreal.

Third Planet is one of the key mainstays behind our collective. A rising DJ and producer, 3P explores the depths of techno, house, footwork, and other eclectic digs from the vast expanses of the electronic music universe. Keep an eye out for his treasure trove of tracks waiting to be released.

To top things off, our favourite lighting wizard Fantasy AKA will be returning to light up the dance floor.

As this will be Batu’s second ever rendezvous in Toronto, our collective is pulling out all the stops! This is truly one not to be missed.

After what feels like an eternity, we’re excited to finally showcase one of our favourite Montreal-based DJ's, Destiny.

Selector-shapeshifter Destiny (fka Choozey) has spent over a decade honing her inimitable sound on Montreal & Toronto dance floors. From underground raves to late-night FM radio bricolages to her day job slinging dance 12”s at Death of Vinyl, she is a constant, inescapable presence in the fabric of Tio'tia:ke’s music communities. Fearless in her taste statements and mixing style, she deploys a punkish, cut-up approach that encompasses everything from oddball techno to jungle to torch songs.

Opening the night, Hemlock has been slowly curating the best of bass-centered dance music since he started DJing. Preferring to mix across genres, Hemlock casts his net wide and deep - we can't wait to see what he brings for his first ever SD appearance.

Finally, beloved resident DJs Juzefer and Third Planet will be slinging some deep cuts they’ve been saving, just for you.

On May 6th we are delighted to share that we will be bringing Brooklyn based producer, DJ, and label co-runner for their first expedition into Toronto.

A fluid creator showing knowledge well beyond their years, Sobolik has released tracks via All Centre, Early Reflex, Woozy, Cloudcore, 3024, Sorry Records, Audio Bambino, and most recently, a dizzying array of eclectically wild feet shufflers entitled ‘Packet Loss’, an EP released via Kindergarten Records. In their own words, Packet Loss “expresses the tension between joy and discomfort, and roots itself firmly in the dancefloor to reflect its powerful role in [my] life as a site of becoming, healing, and catharsis.”

Sobolik is also known for co-running the UK based collective All-Centre with DJ Pitch and Simkin, throwing parties with the NY based Antidote Collective, (Lychee, T. Wan, Nutrition Facts, Glimmer, and Yaya), and for their party series at Jupiter Disco, Inside Voices.

We are also excited to share that , a centrepiece in the local electronic music scene, will be heating up the decks alongside our headlining act. Sanjeet is an electronic music producer and DJ who explores the western influence of South Asian music. Dedicated to tricky polyrhythms, cheeky lyrics, and sweeping ambient soundscapes, Sanjeet transforms the dance floor into a space of release. A visionary and advocate of the local music community, Sanjeet is making serious noise having recently mixed for Boiler Room, Daisychain, and more.
