The start of a really dope project. The Roshomon gates from Naruto.

A jutsu used by only the finest of Shinobi. Giant gates of hell, summoned out of the Earth and standing many stories high. They can deflect or block almost any blast/ jutsu. An obscure tattoo that is not common at all, and I've been wanting to tattoo these for a long time.

I wanted to highlight this Gaara panel I did at the Toronto convention for a little more shine. I love it.
Gaara makes such a sick tattoo character.

He wears a self-tattoo on his forehead, and like the ukiyo-e e and musha e warrior prints of Japan that are depicted in traditional tattoos, this work itself is a tattoo in skin that wears a tattoo on display. Produced from a work of fiction that is about warriors that are to be feared or respected.

I have been reflecting on the similarities between the modern day manga tattoo artist and the tattooer/Hori in Japan which depicted similar characters in ancient times. In my work I try to pay homage by executing perfect line control over the original image, and demonstrate that piece perfectly in your skin.πŸ“œ

When my client walked up at the NIX show and wanted to get this, I really felt that I am on the path. . That morning my two appointments had flopped and my bro really swooped in and saved the day. I was lucky enough to fill up my day, off of the mishap, quite quickly and easily like with this panel and other walk-ups.

Anyway Gaara makes a perfect tattoo character also b cause with stipple/dotwork/or whip shading his sand is portrayed so well..
