To take in the vibrant summer colors of the north, to appreciate more than ever, the land our Creator has given us to call home, to dip your toes into Lake Superior and to see the Canadian Shield with your own eyes. Check it out! Finally getting back to my easel today and making progress on this one! What a beautiful place to hike up to the Agnes Teahouse in Banff. If we get an opportunity to head over that way, it definitely will be on my bucket list!

Upon seeing just the block-in stage, my customer wrote: "Oh my goodness! That looks AMAZING! Almost brings tears to my eyes! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to pass on to my friends to show them your incredible talent! ". I am so happy my client appreciates my art! 😃

2nd phase...modeling the painting. In this section of the process, you begin to see how it is all coming together....which adds to the anticipation of seeing this painting come to a completion and sending it to the happy owner.

Throughout my growing up years, we would explore the fauna in their natural habitat. Whether it was a squirrel, an owl and its babies, a flock of Canadian Geese, or a Redwing Blackbird's song of welcoming back Spring, we began to see nature from a different perspective. The natural world became my inspiration to capture "that moment" on canvas.

I hope that my paintings will bring a smile to your heart and that they will inspire you to explore the natural world around you.

A color study of an Eastern Pine. Once dry will reshape the trunk. That's what I like about oils. Let dry and can paint out what you don't like! 😀
