WHAT: Kylie’s class moves swiftly and aims to take the body into a state of deep release in conversation with virtuosic expansion. NEXT WEEK OKAYYY Here. We. Go.

You don’t wanna miss this one… We are ecstatic to host MOHAMMADREZA AKRAMI this week. Momo will be leading two Flying Low sessions and we hope to keep connecting with this practice in the future.

WHAT: Flying Low technique focuses mainly on the dancer’s relationship with the floor. The class utilises simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the relationship between the centre and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centred state. There is a focus on the skeletal structure that will help improve the dancer’s physical perception and alertness. The class includes partnering work and movement phrases, which explore the primary laws of physics: cohesion and expansion.

WHEN: Mon, Oct 31 + Wed, Nov 2
10-11:30AM

For the next 3 SUNDAYS, Katherine Semchuk will be leading a weekly session!

WHAT: Each week, will dig into a curvy skeleton, run-on sentences in the body, seeing, momentum and the identification and employment of proximal and distal points in the space/body. Repetitive movements and drills will take us through fundamental movements integral to my own (current) practice; improvisations and little combinations will focus on circles, imbalance, relationship to the space and each other as a basis for movement. We will fall (and probably fail), suspend, pull ourselves apart and move through space (duh). We will use cycles, repetition, looping and groove to both identify familiar pathways, and then invite curiosity to create new ones in our bodies.

WHEN: Oct 30, Nov 6 + 13
10-11:30AM

THIS SUNDAY!!

Join us for a weekend session with MARINA ROBINSON! We are so excited to have Marina back with us and this time, with a touch of partnering!

WHAT: “This class will take us upside down, across the floor and every which way in between. We will practise release techniques, as well as researching how we can use the floor as a partner to support us. As a progression, we will move into taking weight into our hands, finding inversions and suspension. The later portion of class will introduce some weight sharing techniques with a partner. I enjoy creating a safe space and judgement free zone for all. Long sleeves and pants are recommended “
