Phoebe’s Peace 🌼🐾
my best friend recently lost her best friend of 12 unforgettable years. Phoebe was her tiny companion, accompanying her owner on countless adventures, traveling together, exploring together, partying together, remaining always side by side. Phoebs was spunky, happy, and her fur was softer than rose petals. She conquered hikes, loved to sit in the grass, made the cutest pitter patter sounds when she ran down the hallway, and hugging her made for the best snuggles.
Phoebe lived a long and amazing life thanks to her caring owner. She was loved immensely. With a heart load of grief and gratitude for their journey together, my friend misses Phoebe every single day.
I handpainted this tiny acrylic painting with as much detail as I could, so that whenever my friend looks at it, she’s brought back to one of their many beautiful adventures together. One of countless special moments that they shared. I aimed to encapsulate Phoebe’s sweet spirit and happiness in her face. I made on a canvas small enough for my friend to easily bring with her anywhere.
I live in Newfoundland and my friend lives on the mainland in Canada, but we were fortunate enough to meet in Ottawa before I moved to Norway (where I currently am). I was able to gift her Phoebe’s Peace in person and give her a big hug too. My friend has managed this passing gracefully and I am so proud to love her through the different stages of her life. I am grateful to have the ability to provide her with memories on canvas like this too.
Painting Phoebe reminded me of the many adventures she came along for, girls nights that wouldn’t be the same without her, and many “hello’s” on FaceTime as we grew up and our lives changed. I’ll never forget the pitter patter of her tiny paws running down the hall, or how smushing my face into her fur used to feel so cozy, or her tongue hanging out once she became an old lady and there weren’t many teeth left to keep it in. 😜
She waits happily now at the rainbow bridge, watching over her owner/mama and showing herself in little ways, letting her know that she is always here. 🕊️💛
