UPDATE ON TOFINO JAZZ FEST 2026
We regret to inform you that the decision was taken earlier this year to cancel Tofino Jazz Festival 2026 as founder and director Sophie L’Homme is currently facing urgent and significant health challenges that require out-of-country spinal surgery.
As the sole organizer of the Festival, Sophie dedicates the full year to bringing it to life: writing grants, finding and booking artists, securing sponsorships and accommodations, coordinating staff and volunteers, and managing every element of the festival’s operation. Even though producing free music festivals is extremely challenging, she has done it year after year with a balanced budget, paying everyone at a professional fee. It is work she has always carried as a labour of love for her community; however, this year, the demands of producing the Festival have become too great as Sophie is limited by her rapidly declining health.
We hope to return next year with a dedicated team in place to support the Festival’s operations and help ensure Tofino Jazz Fest continues to thrive for years to come.
