At Art Comp I had the pleasure of watching Rob Surette live.

Robert R. M. "Rob" Surette (born August 11, 1971) is an American speed-painter and public speaker known for inspiring audience members with his 6-foot paintings (created live, in 1–5 minutes each) and motivational messages.

I am so blessed to be one of the 100 artists chosen to be part of the largest art competition in Canada. More to come.

Bathed in luminous colour and sacred stillness, Divine Mosaic – Held in Grace reimagines the timeless image of Mary and the Christ child through the language of contemporary abstraction. Surrounded by a mosaic of vibrant, stained-glass-like forms, the figures emerge not in elaborate detail, but in quiet essence — symbolizing love, protection, peace, and divine presence.

The gold halos radiate warmth and spiritual light, while the simplified forms invite viewers of every background to connect emotionally with the universal bond between mother and child. The surrounding fragments of colour represent humanity itself: diverse, imperfect, interconnected, and held together through grace.
