We offer quality dance instruction, tumbling, vocal lessons and acting by qualified instructors. We have recently opened our doors to the Thunder Bay community offering lessons to all ages and skill levels. Legacy offers the most comprehensive dance programs in both novice and competitive levels. Dancers in the novice program participate in a recreational program and have the opportunity to perform and compete locally. Our more intensive training program is for those interested in being apart of the competitive stream. We also help give our students the tools they need to pursue a career in the performing arts. Our extensive dance programs include competitive and novice classes in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Acro. We also offer strength and conditioning classes. Legacy offers youth classes for those 5 & under who cant wait to get into a dance studio. The facility features two large studios and a solo studio with mirrors, ballet barres, stereo equipment, a full floor of tumbling mats and tumbling equipment. A Fall Session running September to December and a Winter Session running from January to May. The season culminates in a May recital at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Students participate in all local competitions as well as out of town travel for convention competitions. LPAC offers specialized workshops featuring the industry’s top choreographers where dancers can take part in master classes to enhance their training. Fun, interactive dance birthday parties are also available. Our instructors guide each participant in a motivational and challenging environment, helping them to achieve their goals. Each participant is placed appropriately within their age group and skill level where they will properly receive the most training and discipline at their level.

Today, our Legacy Dance Co family was honoured to be part of CIBC Run for the Cure, and what an inspiring day it was! 🎀

A huge thank you to CIBC for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful event and allowing us to show our support for a cause that touches so many lives.

We had the privilege of cheering on the incredible runners and walkers, celebrating every step they took, and handing out flowers to the beautiful survivors who remind us all what strength, courage, and resilience truly look like. 🌸💕

A special thank you to the incredible members of our Legacy community who showed up early this morning to volunteer and help make the day so special. Your willingness to give your time, share your energy, and support a cause bigger than ourselves is what makes our studio family so special. We are so proud of the community we continue to build together. 💜

Today was about so much more than a run. It was about honouring the fighters, celebrating the survivors, remembering those we’ve lost, and standing together for a future without breast cancer.

At Legacy, we believe in the power of community, the strength of women, and the importance of showing up for one another. Today was a beautiful reminder that when we come together, we can inspire hope, spread love, and make a difference.

Every step matters. Every story matters. And together, we are stronger. 💗🎀

The most BOO-tiful time of the year is here, and we’re ready for all things spooky at Legacy!

🎃 OCTOBER 26–31 IS HALLOWEEN WEEK AT LEGACY! 👻

Dancers, it’s time to start planning those costumes because Halloween week is going to be full of spooky fun! 🕷️ Get ready for Halloween-themed dance games, festive surprises, lots of laughs and, of course, some seriously spooky dancing!

We can’t wait to see our studio filled with little witches, ghosts, superheroes and all your creative Halloween looks! 🧡

Today, we pause.

We listen.
We remember.
We honour the children who never made it home, the Survivors who carry their stories, and the families and communities whose lives have been forever changed by the residential school system.

At Legacy Dance Co., we believe dance is more than movement. Dance is storytelling. It is connection. It is culture. It is a way of carrying stories forward and creating space for voices to be heard.

And with that comes a responsibility.

Our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is not something we believe should live on one calendar day. It is something we carry with us every day, in our studio, in our classrooms, in the way we teach our dancers, and in the way we move through our community.

We want our dancers to understand that reconciliation isn’t simply about knowing the history. It is about listening to Indigenous voices, learning the truth, recognizing the ongoing impact of that history, challenging ourselves to do better, and creating a future rooted in respect, understanding, and relationship.

Because our dancers are not only learning how to move through life, they are learning what kind of people they want to be in the world.

May we teach them to lead with empathy.
To listen before speaking.
To honour cultures and stories that are not their own.
To recognize injustice.
To stand beside others.
And to understand that reconciliation is a journey, not a destination.

Today, we wear orange to remember.

But tomorrow, we keep learning.
The next day, we keep listening.
And every day after that, we keep doing the work.

We remember. We honour. We listen. We learn. We act.

Tiny feet, BIG rhythm! 💜

Tap is such a fun style of dance for little ones because it combines music, movement and rhythm while helping dancers build coordination, balance, confidence and musicality, all while having a TON of fun! 🪩

For our littlest dancers, tap is also a great way to learn how to listen to music, follow patterns, remember combinations and express themselves through movement. And there’s just something SO exciting about hearing those little tap shoes making noise! 🥹👞

We’re so proud to be the cheer squad at this year’s CIBC Run for the Cure, bringing the energy, the love, the music, and the biggest cheers we can possibly give.

Because behind every step is a story.
A mom. A sister. A daughter. A wife. A friend. A teammate.
Someone who has fought, someone who is still fighting, and someone whose memory we carry with us.

We’re cheering for the survivors.
We’re cheering for those currently navigating their fight.
We’re cheering for the families standing beside them.

Sometimes changing direction leads you exactly where you’re meant to be. With the Legacy Bridge Discount Program, we’re making it easier to take that step.

If you’ve already paid fees for dance, sports, or any other activity but feel Legacy is the place for you, we’ll honour what you’ve invested.

Simply provide proof of payment (a receipt from your previous program), and we’ll apply that amount as a discount toward your Legacy tuition.
