We offer quality dance instruction, tumbling, vocal lessons and acting by qualified instructors. We have recently opened our doors to the Thunder Bay community offering lessons to all ages and skill levels. Legacy offers the most comprehensive dance programs in both novice and competitive levels. Dancers in the novice program participate in a recreational program and have the opportunity to perfor

m and compete locally. Our more intensive training program is for those interested in being apart of the competitive stream. We also help give our students the tools they need to pursue a career in the performing arts. Our extensive dance programs include competitive and novice classes in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Acro. We also offer strength and conditioning classes. Legacy offers youth classes for those 5 & under who cant wait to get into a dance studio. The facility features two large studios and a solo studio with mirrors, ballet barres, stereo equipment, a full floor of tumbling mats and tumbling equipment. A Fall Session running September to December and a Winter Session running from January to May. The season culminates in a May recital at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Students participate in all local competitions as well as out of town travel for convention competitions. LPAC offers specialized workshops featuring the industry’s top choreographers where dancers can take part in master classes to enhance their training. Fun, interactive dance birthday parties are also available. Our instructors guide each participant in a motivational and challenging environment, helping them to achieve their goals. Each participant is placed appropriately within their age group and skill level where they will properly receive the most training and discipline at their level.

At Legacy Dance Co., we believe some of the most valuable lessons our dancers learn happen beyond the stage.

The Next Generation Dance Assistant Program gives our dancers ages 9+ the opportunity to step into meaningful roles within the studio, working alongside our instructors, assisting younger dancers and learning what it means to be a dependable, positive leader.

✨ More than assisting in a dance class…
• Build leadership and communication skills
• Gain hands-on teaching and mentoring experience
• Develop confidence, responsibility and professionalism
• Become a role model for our younger Legacy dancers
• Earn credits toward tuition and additional routines
• Learn the value of commitment, reliability and hard work

Our assistants are given real responsibility. They commit for the full season, arrive prepared each week, support their assigned classes and track their hours, much like they would in a first job.

We love watching our younger dancers look up to the dancers who came before them, and then seeing those dancers eventually become the ones inspiring the next generation. 💜

It’s another way we’re investing in our dancers as people, not just performers.

We know how quickly the costs can add up when you have multiple children in activities, which is why our Legacy Family Savings are designed to make having siblings dance together a little easier.

As we begin another dance season, we’re reminded that every new year carries the memories of those who helped shape Legacy into what it is today. 💜

There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think of Isla. Her kindness, unwavering work ethic, and love for this studio continue to inspire us. While we wish she was walking through our doors this season, we know her light continues to shine through the lives she touched.

In her honour, we are proud to continue two initiatives that reflect who Isla was:

✨ The Legacy Dance Co. Work Program
Created for our Intermediate & Senior Competitive dancers who are balancing school, work, and dance. Isla never hesitated to lend a hand—she was always the first to volunteer, eager to help, and dedicated to making Legacy a better place. Through this program, dancers who demonstrate that same commitment and passion can earn their group dance tuition while giving back to the studio community she loved so deeply.

✨ Isla’s Light Scholarship
A scholarship created to recognize a dancer who embodies the qualities Isla lived every day—kindness, compassion, resilience, humility, leadership, and a heart that makes others feel seen. It is a reminder that the brightest lights are often found in the way we lift those around us.

As another season begins, we challenge every dancer to carry a little piece of Isla with them. Work hard. Be kind. Help without being asked. Cheer for your teammates. Leave every room brighter than you found it.

That is the legacy she left behind.

And that is the legacy we will continue to honour, season after season. 💜✨

Our dancers have spent the summer learning, growing, building confidence, and having so much fun—and now it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve accomplished! Come cheer them on as they take the stage and show off all their hard work.
