Where the Forest Keeps Its Secrets

Long before footsteps learned the shape of paths,
the forest was already awake
breathing through leaves,
listening through roots.

It is said there are those
who do not enter the forest,
but are welcomed by it.

On such a night,
when the air shimmered with quiet light,
a presence moved between green shadows
not breaking them,
but becoming part of their story.

The plants leaned closer,
their veins carrying whispers
older than memory.

And beside that presence,
a small guardian walked
fire in its fur,
wisdom in its eyes.

The fox did not lead.
It did not follow.
It simply knew.

Together, they passed through silence
that was never empty,
through darkness
that was never blind.

A hand brushed against glowing leaves,
and the forest answered
not in words,
but in warmth.

The elders say
there are those who carry light within them,
not to conquer the wild,
but to remind it
that it has always been sacred.

And when the fox walks without fear,
and the forest opens its hidden breath,
it is because something ancient has returned
not as a stranger,
but as kin.
