The Novena Sisters is a spirited and light-hearted drama following two generations of the Benecasas, an Italian immigrant family, as they try to balance old and new worlds. Two generations of sisters are at the centre of the story as they deal with secrets kept and revealed, romances sparking and sputtering in this fast-paced and hilarious tale about what makes families stick together in the face of a rapidly changing world.

Cambrian Players is pleased to announce that open auditions will be held for their upcoming production of The Novena Sisters, a light-hearted drama written by Eleanor Albanese, and directed by Sheena Albanese.

The Novena Sisters is a full length original play in two acts, with 7 actors. It is set in late 1950s Northern Ontario (Port Arthur) and takes place over approximately 10 months.

The Novena Sisters is a spirited and light-hearted drama following two generations of the Benecasas, an Italian immigrant family, as they try to balance old and new worlds. Two generations of sisters are at the centre of the story as they deal with secrets kept and revealed, romances sparking and sputtering in this fast-paced and hilarious tale about what makes families stick together in the face of a rapidly changing world.

AUDITIONS will be held at the Cambrian Players Theatre at 818 Spring Street, on :

✅ Thursday, August 27th from 7-9pm
✅ Friday, August 28th from 7-9pm
✅ Saturday, August 29th from 11am-2pm

Actors of all ethnic/cultural/sexual/gender identities are invited to audition. Consideration will be given to gender blind casting where gender is not essential to the character being portrayed. Prior acting experience is helpful but not essential.

We are currently seeking applicants for one Director At Large position with a focus on Fundraising and Engagement! If you’re passionate about community, creativity, and supporting local theatre, we’d love to hear from you! All identities and backgrounds are welcome, and no theatre experience is required.

Key responsibilities of this position will include becoming a member of both the Fundraising and Engagement Working groups to support various initiatives.
