It’s been a while since I introduced myself. Thanks for being here!

Welcome—I’m Sally. I often get called Noelle.

Noelle is actually my middle name, and I love it so it’s ok. I get called Shelly a lot too... I digress.

Noelle James Home began with a love of beautiful wood, meaningful details, and the belief that the things we bring into our homes should feel personal. Since I have the 1970’s ‘How hard can it be?’ gene. I figured I could do this! I am; you’re reading this!

From my workshop in Three Hills, Alberta, I create handcrafted furniture, serving pieces, gifts, and home décor that are meant to be noticed, used, shared, and treasured. You’ll often find me experimenting with an interesting piece of wood, working through a new idea, or imagining how a customer’s story can become part of the finished design.

No two pieces of wood are exactly alike—and I don’t believe the things in your home should feel ordinary either.

How Noelle James Home Began

I’ve had my own toolbox since I was 5 years old. I was taught that just because I am a girl doesn’t mean I need to miss out on working with tools. I have done roofing, laid weeping tile, tied way too much rebar and poured concrete, rebuilt exterior walls, installed windows and cabinetry, renovated a home and learned so much along the way.

I was craving creativity. I opened Noelle James Home Inc. in April 2025 as a proudly Alberta (and Yukoner), woman-owned business and a place where I could turn creativity into something tangible.

Epoxy Inlay Workshops/Retreat Activity:

You: Gather 5-20 people, decide on a project, theme, date and time and location.

Project ideas: coasters, charcuterie board, wall hanging

Themes: fall, Halloween, Christmas, winter, sport, wedding, birthday, horses, crows, mandalas, almost anything!

Sally: Preps everything, gathers all the supplies and comes to you!

You: Hang out with your friends and create something wonderful! (Maybe have some drinks and snacks… 😉)

Sally: Shows you the techniques

You: Have fun and leave with your epoxy inlay project!

FAQ:
How far will you travel? Basically, between Sylvan Lake and Calgary is pretty easy. I will consider all requests!

How much will it cost? Per person prices start at $40 for coasters, $100 for charcuterie, $150 for clocks. 10+ people the host is free!

Make some custom boards with me!

These boards honour a family farm in rural Alberta. It’s shaping up to become a 100 year farm.

I’m privileged to know stories behind the pieces I create. Even I got teary when I dropped them off! These are power, meaningful stories.

Each customized piece is created because of a meaningful story.

The base colour, thin red line, logo and replica of a dog tag was added to honour someone who made an impact on this customers life.

As I am making these pieces I reflect on the meaning behind the stories shared and the privilege it is to be chosen to help bring these pieces to life.

Daughter-in-law: Do you do commissions?
Me: Yup, it’s almost all I do.
DIL: I have a design. What’s the best format.
Me: SVG
DIL: Can you drop it off? I’m working near you. But, we’re moving cows so I might not be there but I’ll be back.
Me: Finds farm, nobody there. Writes a note with my phone number and who it’s for and hangs it on the fence for her when she gets back.

A busy day in the shop today!

Rising Sun Stones was so gracious when I etched the 2nd side of the sign UPSIDE DOWN! Surprisingly, I had the same stain they used from Windsor Plywood

2 custom challenge coin boards going out the door this week too! You’ll have to keep watching as they are still a surprise for each of the clients…

One of them had dog tags recreated on the board.

One of them is going to Frontline Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday in Sylvan Lake!
