A medieval feast is not just a modern dinner served in a Great Hall.

We try to keep the food itself connected to the period too, choosing ingredients and dishes that make sense for the setting and steering clear of obvious anachronisms.

So yes, the costumes matter.
The music matters.
The history matters.

Good Knights’ feast menu includes bread and cheese, hearty soups, period-inspired salads, seasonal vegetables, smoked meats and baked desserts, with food made in-house and local ingredients used where possible.

Our feasts won’t be back until the 2027 season, but the plotting never really stops. Over the off season, we’ll be sharing a few of the behind-the-scenes details that help make the Great Hall feel like more than just a themed dinner.

A few things we’ll miss until next season

Deep commitment to the aesthetic.
Swords clanking somewhere in the distance.
People taking costumes much more seriously than expected.
Someone wandering past in a cloak like that is completely ordinary.
The Great Hall being louder than necessary.

The realm is quieter now. Suspiciously quieter.

The tents rest.
The costumes get sorted.
The questionable hats await their next assignment.

And just like that, another Encampment season is in the books.

Thank you to every guest, adventurer, tiny knight, questionable hat, and very committed member of the realm who joined us this year.

The Encampment is closing for the season, but The Burrow stays open year-round for anyone not quite ready to return fully to ordinary life.
