We would like to highlight the organization Quilts for Survivors, based in Timmins Ontario, who has to date delivered 9,254 quilts to Residential School Survivors, Day School Survivors, Sixties Scoop Survivors, and their families across Turtle Island.
“Quilts for Survivors is a community-led initiative rooted in care, offering handmade quilts to Residential School Survivors, Day School Survivors, Sixties Scoop Survivors, and their families. Each quilt stands as a quiet offering of love, a reminder that Survivors are seen, honoured, and never forgotten.”
“Zaagi’ine Gamig — Place That Gives Love — is the home of Quilts for Survivors, nestled in Timmins, Ontario. Within this space, our staff and volunteers gather to transform donated quilt blocks into finished quilts, each one destined to reach Survivors and families across Canada with warmth, care, and respect.”
“There are many ways to support Quilts for Survivors — from donating quilts and supplies to sponsoring shipping, volunteering, or taking a class.”
