Somehow, the weather got the memo. ☁️🍎

Grey & Gold spent Saturday celebrating owner David’s birthday with a very full lawn, local musicians setting the soundtrack, cider flowing, kids running, and dogs having what appeared to be an equally excellent party of their own. Even a bridal party rolled in, with groups from Breezy Tours and Brewery & Winery Tours stopping by to enjoy the afternoon too.

Rain and thunder threatened all day. The sky looked like it could open at any moment. And then, at about 5:50, just as the party was winding down, the deluge arrived.

Pretty perfect timing for a pretty delightful day.

Happy birthday, David, and cheers to everyone who came out to celebrate at Grey & Gold. 🥂

Clarksburg Day, you did this. 🌼

There was something wonderfully old-fashioned about it.

A closed street. Colourful flags and balloons swaying in the breeze. Music all day. Kids and dogs, vendors and visitors, neighbours and local businesses, all sharing the street.

More than once, we heard that people had never seen Clarksburg quite like this.

For a first Clarksburg Day, it was something pretty special.

Huge thanks to Robert Brown of the Thornbury Beaver Valley Lions Club, who dreamed it up and did so much to bring it to life, and to the Lions, community partners, volunteers, musicians, vendors, businesses and everyone who came out and filled the street.

And our soundtrack could only come from the day itself: The Ruthven Sisters , live at Clarksburg Day, with their beautiful take on “Delta Dawn.” Thank you for letting us use it. 🎶

This one’s going to stay with us for a while. 🌼

The first-ever Clarksburg Day is tomorrow. Live music, street dance, classic cars, kids' activities, shopping, food + more, from 11–4 on Marsh Street.

It's only 2 km. Come on over. 🌼

Turns out, Clarksburg Day has quite the soundtrack. 🎶

Live music all day on the Marsh Street stage, leading into a street dance with Midnight Special from 2–4pm.

And plenty happening beyond the stage: classic cars from the Goldentown Cruisers, kids' activities, vendors, sidewalk shopping, beer garden, BBQ, 50/50 draw + more.

🚗 Marsh Street will be closed to traffic from Hillcrest to Clark. Parking is available at St. Paul’s and St. George’s churches in Clarksburg, and at the Beaver Valley Community Centre in Thornbury. Shuttle service is available from all three locations, with drop-off at George & Marsh in the heart of the event.
