A Long Time Ago...
Continuing my castle series, with great pride and pleasure, I present "A Long Time Ago". It's a framed, 28" x 52" acrylic on canvas, rich with ghosts and faeries, stone creatures and haunted trees...all the things my strange imagination loves to conjure!
Those of you familiar with our Sylvan Lake Library, may have noticed my first castle painting, "Once Upon A Time" hanging in their cozy reading area.
This is now available for sale, prior to hitting all the art shows and sales this summer, for $450, to be picked up in the Central Alberta area.

Merry Christmas to All!
I must confess 2025 hasn't been a creative year for me. I'm riding the waves of a major health scare, but refuse to be pulled under! Some months ago, however, I completed this acrylic-on-canvas for a family member. Although she is all grown up now, this is how she lives in my mind. But....how many images of her, at various times of her life, can you count? Can you spot her name? It's hidden three times within the brush strokes!

I had a wonderful day Saturday, with these lovely ladies and fellow creators, at the library's Christmas vendor sale. The weather outside was frightful, yet I sold three small paintings and received so many nice compliments it's gone straight to my head. We must do it again next year ladies!

"Once Upon a Time"

A long time ago, in a land far away from my current Sylvan Lake home, I picked up a pastel and became a creator.
My love of creating merged with my loves of gothic lore, faerie tales, and yes, a bit of spooky stuff. And over half a century later, this painting, "Once Upon a Time" was born.
With only my cats and I enjoying it for several years, I've decided it's time to share it with others. But how? Gift it to my local library of course, to pay back the endless hours of peace and pleasure, gifted to me by the many libraries of my lifetime.
And yes, there's a bit of spooky stuff in it. Can you spot the two ghosts?

I had such a wonderful, fun weekend participating in the Sylvan Lake Art Show and Sale! I met so many wonderful artists there! I was so nervous at first but soon felt right at home.
I sold four paintings, gave away three small ones to three adorable children near the end of the show, and donated my large castle painting to the Town, hopefully to hang in the library.
Time to relax now!
