The Road to… Frontier Days Stand-Up Showcase
The search is on for the next local face at the Grandstand!
Funny Farm Comedy is heading to the Lyric Theatre on June 6th for a special night of laughs with a high-stakes twist. We are looking for the perfect local opener to join the lineup for Quick Dick McDick on Thursday, June 25th at the Frontier Days Grandstand.

This showcase features a roster of local talent bringing their best material to the stage for a chance to snag one of the opening spots at this year’s exhibition.

How the Winner is Chosen
We aren’t leaving it all to chance. The final selection will be determined by a combination of guest judges and audience reaction. Come out, grab a drink, and let your laughs be heard—your energy helps decide who moves on to the big stage on June 25th!

Opening the evening with his own unique style and energy is rising local artist Griffin Funk. Griffin has been performing on the Lyric stage for years through Maverick Coffeehouse, Open Stage events and alongside other local bands and musicians. Known for his engaging presence, authenticity, and kind spirit, Griffin brings a genuine passion for music and performance to the the stage.

Griffin believes that resilience and perseverance are among life's most important strengths, recognizing that the real world can be challenging and that learning to navigate those experiences helps shape who we become.

Local Hometown Boy Scott Schroeder is bringing his deep smooth vocals home to Swift Current with his band Gastown Riot. Hailing from Calgary, a Canadian rock band comprising three Prairie boys from SK and AB and two blokes from the UK. Pairing rock anthem sound with poignantly written lyrics
Special Guest Opener- Dillon Currie spouts a heavy lyrical focus with smooth melodies that make hard truths become beautiful. The Maple Creek-born artist's favourite part of the process is when the written songs make it into the studio for production and recording. He currently lives and works in Swift Current Available on all streaming platforms, southwest residents have the chance to hear his original works.
