My name is Iman Al-Sallal and I live in Vancouver, Canada. Ever since I was a young girl, drawing and fairy tales were close to my heart. Inspired by my father, I decided to pursue studies in architecture, and became passionate about green building and community work. For many years, I grew distant and fearful of drawing, but after taking a course in children’s books’ illustration, my love for art
was rekindled and a whole new world of endless imagination and creativity opened up for me. It’s now become an integral part of my life, and a wonderful form of mind and soul rejuvenation. My inspiration comes from nature and classic storybooks, fairy tales and cartoons, such as Madeline, Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio.
