Greetings RDS families,

It is with great sadness that we must advise you that RDS will be closed for this coming year, and classes are cancelled henceforth.

Over the years, we have been so blessed by your support and participation. Each one of you, whether you have been with RDS since the beginning or are new to the family have been so special to us, and we are so thankful having been able to teach, worship and dance with you. We hope that though this chapter is closing, that this is not goodbye forever; whether in passing or in a new context, we look forward to seeing you all again.

All of the staff at RDS were so excited about and looking forward to this coming year. Though our hearts are broken over this, and though this closure is hard to understand in an already deeply challenging season, we know that God is in control and trust that He works everything out for good.

The teachers will be hosting a farewell event on October 1st as an opportunity to say goodbye to one another. Many of our students have been with us since the beginning of RDS, and we want to make sure there is an opportunity to visit with friends and teachers. We will be in touch soon regarding details such as location and time (likely in the early evening after work/school), but wanted to let you know of this date well in advance.

We will continue to pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

At dance camp, dancers will get to experience a variety of dance styles including jazz, contemporary, lyrical, ballet and hip hop. Time will be spent focusing on mentorship and devotionals, stretching and strengthening, and building skills like leaps and turns. Dancers will get to explore their creativity and learn how to express themselves through guided improvisation and choreography-building exercises. Head to our website to register or to learn more! ✨

Stapleton is always one of our biggest fundraisers of the year; because of Covid-19, we haven’t been able to put on many of our regular fundraisers making this one more important than ever! All the fundraising RDS does is not-for-profit, and goes directly back into helping our dancers with bursaries and scholarships. We want every child with a desire to dance to be able to regardless of finances. Have you placed your order yet? Don’t wait, you don’t want to miss out! ⏳

Reflection Dance Studio is looking for a Hip Hop and/or Tap instructor for our Fall 2021 season!

RDS recognizes that hip-hop dance originated out of a larger cultural movement in the Bronx in the ’70s. At that time, it was created as a way to build community and create art within marginalized Black communities. Having a hip-hop teacher who understands and teaches the valuable history behind this dance style is incredibly important to us, and we are seeking BIPOC teachers to join our staff.

ABOUT US:
We are a faith-based, not-for-profit and non-competitive dance studio based out of Uptown Church in White Rock, BC.
Our mission is ministry; to nurture the child's creative expression of dance as an outpouring of praise and thanksgiving. Through graceful movement and grace-filled teaching, dancers develop a passionate desire for living their part of God's Story.
We focus on the transformation of the heart, the expression of identity in Jesus, and using our unique gifts to praise the Great Creator.
