Did you like the The Women of Lockerbie? Want to see another play about strong and resilient women? Lockerbie's director, Kate Muchmore Woo, directs another powerful play at Trinity Western University (Langley, BC) this week titled The Cover of Life by R.T. Robinson.
Set in the American south in 1943, it tells the story of three wives married to brothers all fighting in the war. The three move in with their mother-in-law for the duration of the war, and a female reporter from LIFE magazine is sent to write a cover story about them. Secrets are uncovered, dreams are realized and shattered, and all of their futures are changed. “The play is an excellent mixture of comedy and tragedy, showing what’s going on in the deepest hearts of these women,” says Kate Muchmore Woo. “It’s full of joy and pain.”
In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein saga, women everywhere are finding their voices and refusing to be afraid of standing up for themselves. Come and see the women of The Cover of Life discover their voices and value.
