A few golden trees.
One brushstroke at a time.

Hi lovely,

One of the saddest things I hear people say is...

"I'm just not creative."

I don't believe that for a second.

I think life has simply asked a lot of you.

You've been busy taking care of family.
Meeting deadlines.
Paying bills.
Remembering appointments.
Keeping everyone else's world turning.

Somewhere along the way, your own creativity got pushed to the bottom of the list.

Not because it disappeared.

Because it had to wait.

The wonderful thing about creativity is that it doesn't judge how long you've been away.

It doesn't ask where you've been.

It simply welcomes you back.

Maybe that's with a paintbrush.

Maybe it's doodling in a notebook while your coffee brews.

Maybe it's making patterns, blending colours, or losing yourself in thirty quiet minutes of creating.

Whatever it looks like, it counts.

If this resonates with you, I wrote a blog post about rekindling your creativity and gently finding your way back to it.

🌿 Read it here:
https://zealousart.com/rekindle-your-creativity/

I hope it reminds you that creativity isn't a talent reserved for a lucky few.

It's something we all carry with us.

Sometimes it just needs a little invitation to come back.

The dishes can wait.

The emails can wait.

The laundry can wait.

Come paint for a while.

Make Mindful Art.

Your mind wasn't designed to be 'on' all day!

Hi lovely,

Have you noticed how rarely our minds get a chance to be still?

There's always another notification.
Another headline.
Another email.
Another thing to solve.

Even when we're resting, we're consuming.

Scrolling.
Listening.
Watching.

Our minds are constantly taking things in.

Painting is one of the few things that asks something different of us.

Instead of consuming...

we create.

Instead of reacting...

we notice.

The curve of a brushstroke.
The way blue softens when it meets white.
The tiny decision to add just one more leaf.

Without realising it, your breathing slows.

Your shoulders drop.

For a little while, your mind has somewhere gentle to rest.

That's what I hope you discover every time you pick up a brush.

Not the perfect painting.

Not the perfect technique.

Just a little more peace than you had thirty minutes ago.

So this week, don't paint to make something beautiful.

Paint because you deserve thirty quiet minutes with yourself.

The painting is simply what happens while your nervous system remembers what calm feels like.

Happy painting.

Hi lovely,

I’ve been thinking about this red octopus painting.

It’s bright.

It’s bold.

It has all these twisting, reaching arms and playful little details… and yet somehow, painting it can feel incredibly calming. Isn’t that funny?

Sometimes we think calm has to look soft and neutral and quiet, but sometimes calm looks like red paint, turquoise water, little circles, curvy lines, and letting yourself get completely lost in the process for a while.

That’s one of the things I love most about painting. It gives your busy mind somewhere gentle to land.

One brushstroke.

One colour.

One little detail at a time and somewhere along the way, something shifts. You stop thinking so much about whether it’s “good.”

You start noticing the colours.

You start playing.

You start trusting your hand a little more and by the end, you haven’t just painted an octopus…

You’ve given yourself a little reset.

A little transformation.

A little reminder that you can create something exciting, colourful, and full of life, even if you started the day feeling tired, stuck, or uninspired.

That’s why I love this class.

It’s fun, bold, and beginner-friendly, but still gives you that peaceful feeling of sitting down and making something with your own hands.

If you’d like to paint this red octopus with me, you can find the class here: 👉 https://zealousart.thinkific.com/courses/easy-fun-step-by-step-class-octopus

No pressure.

No perfection.

Just a playful painting, one brushstroke at a time.

Fun art. Not fine art.

Always.

Hi lovely,

Before the weekend begins, I want to remind you of something simple…

You don’t need to wait for the perfect mood to paint.

Sometimes painting is what helps create the mood.
A little lighter.

A little calmer.

A little more colourful.

And now that the weather is calling us outside, this might be the sweetest little reset:

Set up on the patio.

Pour something cold.

Bring out a few paints, a brush, and a canvas.

Let the fresh air do what it does.

Let colour do what words sometimes can’t.

There is something so relaxing about painting outside. No pressure. No overthinking. Just a quiet moment with your hands, your breath, your colours, and a little bit of sunshine.

And...
You don’t just feel better while you’re painting…

You finish with something bright, joyful, and colourful that reminds you:

“I made this.”

That’s exactly why I created the Improve Your Mood Bundle.

It’s simple.

It’s gentle.

It’s step-by-step.

And it’s made for those moments when you want to feel a little more like yourself again.

For a limited time, you can grab it for just $10

Inside, you’ll get 3 uplifting painting tutorials with 1 year access.

No pressure.

No perfection.

No art degree required.

Just a peaceful little painting session you can enjoy at your kitchen table, in your garden, or outside on the patio.

So this weekend, instead of waiting until you “feel creative”…

Start small.

Start colourful.

Start outside if you can.

And let painting lift your mood one brushstroke at a time.
