We have not forgotten about you, we are still meeting and in constant discussions. We are hoping to have a resolution email sent out to each of you asap.

While it was a very hard morning and still feeling very fresh for everyone, here’s an update as to what happened.

We had a shelter in place plan, there’s been a plan since this happened 3 years ago. If you think we didn’t learn from that we did. We had the Village Emergency Management Team assisting us with making the calls leading up to the festival and the day of.

Unfortunately at 9:00 as we were looking at the radar the storm cell had shifted and was set to hit the festival at 10 am. We were in the moment of getting ready to call a shelter in place when a severe thunderstorm watch was issued. As soon as that severe thunderstorm watch came in, it was out of our hands. We had a full team of emergency personnel and our community emergency management team that ultimately decided it was no longer safe to be open when that storm hits.

This was not a light decision by anyone.

For vendors that have been calling and emailing, we will be having a committee meeting within the next 72 hours and will get back to all of your concerns.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Please note we are currently watching the weather for tomorrow closely with the Village Emergency Management Team. It is currently calling for rain with a chance of thunder showers. At this current time the Festival is still a GO!!

If something changes and we have to cancel we will post ASAP.

Last minute add to the park this year is The Golden Brick Experience! They will have Lego set up for all your building needs.

* Boat launch will be closed Friday August 7th at 4pm and reopen Saturday August 8th at 5pm

*Main street and Lions Park will be closed Friday August 7th from 11pm to Saturday August 8th at 5pm.

Rusted Iron Fitness will be with us selling their merch, with all the proceeds going to MADD Canada.

Jeff will be biking 450km from Brooks Falls, Emsdale to the cemetery in Dorchester in memory of his brother Scott and niece Leaira, raising awareness for impaired driving and supporting MADD Canada.
