Peak Theatre Players
UPDATE!

As part of Peak Theatre Players 45th Anniversary celebration we will be presenting a fast-paced, high-spirited comedy portraying an well-meaning but ill-equipped theatre company as they present a stage classic.

We are in the final stages of licensing the script, so we may not refer to it by name, at this time.

Show dates will be between May 22 and 30, so mark your calendars! We are planning a gala event with special hospitality for those who would like to be involved.

Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 26 at the Sundre Arts Centre, starting at 7:00pm.

There are 10 actors needed for this show, 7 males, 3 women of various ages.

Consider the time commitment required: rehearsals will begin in March on Thursday nights and we will add a second weekday evening as we get rolling.

There are lines to learned, but be advised, this is a very physical form of theatre: not really strenuous, but carefully planned and coordinated. It promises to be a very fun show to work on!

No experience required. Descriptions and readings will be available shortly.

A big thanks to all our volunteers & the patrons who helped make our production of Opening Night a huge success! It was a lot of fun and we are so pleased that you enjoyed it as well.

Plans are already underway for our next production in the fall, and we look forward to entertaining you in the near future.

Hello everyone! This is my fourteenth play as a director for Peak. Over the years I have been in as many productions as I am old and I wish to say that this particular play has been one of my most rewarding.

Peak chose this play to introduce new faces to the stage and we are thrilled that 5 individuals are making their debut. As a director, I couldn’t be prouder of the cast as they have worked extremely hard to bring their characters to life. From the resounding applause they received over the weekend’s performances, it is obvious their hard work has paid off.

Peak Theatre Players is considering one of two plays for their upcoming Spring production.
Both plays are written by Canadian playwright, Norm Foster.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has been considering participating in community theatre.
Rehearsals will be held one to two evenings a week beginning in early March.
Performance dates: May 2-10, 2025.

Play One: Halfway There
Cast: 4 Females, 1 Male
This play is a testament to friendship amongst four females. A new doctor arrives in town and his interest in one of them creates a chain of events that each character handles through humour and strength. A well balanced play that provides equal acting opportunity for all characters.

Play Two: Opening Night
Cast: 3 Females, 5 Males
Opening Night it is a snapshot of a collection of people on hand for the opening night of a play of questionable merit. Typical of Norm Foster, it is a play of charm and humour with a nice balance of enjoyable roles.

With auditions for the next Peak Theatre production fast approaching, we thought it might be nice to have some helpful tips and tricks on how you can prepare!

1. Think about what you have to offer ahead of time and be sure to showcase that to the director.

2. Arrive on time!

3. Introduce yourself to others auditioning.

4. Listen to the directors speech and descriptions at the start.

5. Audition for all/any parts that might Peak your interest. (Pun intended)

6. Speak clear, loud and in a controlled / natural way.

7. Don’t be shy or embarrassed if something doesn’t feel perfect.

8. If this is your first time auditioning, listen to and watch others audition. Keep in mind we want your version of the character to shine so no copying.
