📣 Join us on October 10 for Montuno Cubano: Cuban Soul, Maritime Spirit 📣

Imagine the passion, energy, and irresistible rhythms that draw visitors from around the world to Cuba's vibrant music scene—now brought to life right here in Prince Edward Island. This special concert offers a rare opportunity to experience the magic of authentic Cuban music without travelling to Cuba.

Featuring the internationally acclaimed musicians, Montuno Cubano, alongside talented Maritime guest artists, this unique performance celebrates both the rich musical traditions of Cuba and the beloved songs of Atlantic Canada. Throughout the evening, audiences will enjoy performances by Montuno Cubano, Maritime artists showcasing East Coast favourites, and exciting collaborative numbers that bring all the musicians together on one stage.

The concert will move between the soulful sounds and infectious rhythms of Cuba, the cherished melodies and stories of the Maritimes, and dynamic collaborations that highlight the connections between these musical worlds. Together, the artists will demonstrate how different musical traditions can create something fresh, inspiring, and unforgettable.

People HELPING people! It's who we are!

That's what Islanders are known for. Claire and Mario are facing a battle that we can ALL help with. Like the Gofundme campaign, our goal is to help cover medical expenses, travel, accommodations, and everyday living costs so Claire - who has been diagnosed with a with a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma. - can focus on her health and pursue every available treatment option. They are traveling to the US for specialized treatment - not available in Canada - within the next couple of weeks.

Coldplay are recognized world over as one of the most popular and influential bands of the new millennium. They have been performing for more than 25 years, selling out multiple nights in almost every venue, thrilling dedicated fans numbered in the millions.

'The Coldplay Show' is the most authentic tribute, bringing the closest sonic and visual performance experience imaginable. This tribute concert features the biggest hits of all-time that include; Clocks, Scientist, Adventure of a Lifetime, Sky Full of Stars, Yellow, Paradise, Fix You, Something Just Like This, My Universe, Higher Power, Trouble and other recognizable chart-toppers.

'The Coldplay Show' includes high-tech 3D visual elements bringing to life the true essence of the renowned Coldplay show, with truly professional band members who are seasoned tribute musicians, who have performed 1000's of shows at various festivals, theatres and live music venues. Lead vocalist and front man Andrew Sansone has been touring for more than 20 years as a professional musician. ✨ Coming this July ✨

The third and final chapter of the Acadian Trilogy of Prince Edward Island is inspired by the musical “Le Grand Cercle”, presented during the mid-point of the 2004 World Acadian Congress in Nova Scotia, with this chapter specifically adapted for Prince Edward Island.

The opening scene brings us back to Juliette, the daughter of Nicolas and Madeleine, now a mother superior, present at the historic meeting for the construction of Mont-Carmel church.

The following scenes depict key moments in the community’s modern journey, such as the rise of the co-operative movement, the Second World War, the struggle for French-language schools, the World Acadian Congresses, the Third World War, and ultimately, the creation of a new world government.

Le troisième et dernier chapitre de la Trilogie acadienne de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Inspiré du spectacle du mitan du Congrès mondial acadien en Nouvelle-Écosse en 2004, ce chapitre a été adapté spécialement pour l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard.

Dès le premier tableau, on retrouve Juliette, la fille de Nicolas et
Madeleine, devenue mère supérieure, qui assiste à la réunion pour la construction de l’église de Mont-Carmel.

Les tableaux suivants retracent les grandes étapes de l’histoire moderne de la communauté : le mouvement coopératif, la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, la lutte pour les écoles françaises, les Congrès mondiaux acadiens, la Troisième Guerre mondiale, etc. Et enfin, la création d’un nouveau gouvernement mondial.

✨ BRAND NEW SHOW ✨

The spectacle returns this July and August! Highland Storm: The Elements is a completely reimagined version of the College of Piping’s signature stage production. Featuring the instructors and students of the College along with professional musicians, this year’s show explores the themes of air, water, earth and fire to depict how our island, our people and our way of life have been shaped by these elements. With ties to our Celtic ancestors across the Atlantic, Highland and step dancers along with pipes, drums, fiddle and more create a stunning visual and musical experience in this latest version of Highland Storm.

This is an all-Islander production, including visual and literary artists: Emily Howard's exquisite paintings illuminate the stage with Isaac Williams' digital mastery, the script is written and narrated by Jacob Hemphill.

On stage this week! Join us for Peter Shaffer's Lettice and Lovage presented by the Seaside Theatre Company.

In this long running West End play, we meet two characters who at first are at polar opposites: Lettice Douffett, the flamboyant tour guide who is not above adding some “interesting” facts to her tours, and staid Lotte Schoen, her boss who believes that facts are facts, no matter how boring. The two nevertheless form an unlikely friendship over a shared disdain for bland modern society, and together they plot against it, with unintended results! A hilarious play with two wonderful roles, Maggie Smith and Margaret Tyzack earned Tony Awards for playing these characters.

Seaside Theatre Company is based out of the Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre in Summerside. The company aims to “build community through theatre” by drawing on the many talents found throughout the Island, and by presenting a wide variety of theatrical productions for both audiences and participants to experience.

When quirky, personable siblings Stephanie, Johnny, and Danielle come together as a band, they are no longer just a family, no longer just Rosses. They are: the Ross Family. (Cue the cackles).

Big vocals, heartfelt nerdy stories, stylish fiddle sets, wicked piano, and fine step-dancing: The fruit of several generations of Ross and Arsenault values, talents, languages, and hardship.

The group desires to preserve and play with their centuries-old PEI heritage, as well as contemporary folk influences. Add in these music lovers' varied tastes and there lays the foundation for their original music. Songwriting that tends to reflect on how our roots, our home, our people shape us.

Even after twenty years of performance, the bright stage lights have not blinded the Ross Family from truly seeing those who support and connect with their art. Art that is often described as uplifting and emotionally stirring, full-circle and full-sounding, with sincere depth and goofiness. In other words, love. ❤️
