I’ve been having such a lovely time with some amazing clients this summer!! (But also all the time 🥰) Truly so thankful!

What’s the first Studio Ghibli movie you watched? 👀
As a kid, we watched Totoro all the time and I didn’t realize there was a whole amazing Studio Ghibli world until 2017 ish when my mentor Purtalic Tamakai Lahncey let me borrow their CD set!! I can’t believe I waited that long to watch them, so good!!

I also added two other tattoo projects I’m working on again this month! 😍

If you didn’t know our studio is closing this month and our last day tattooing is September 23rd. I still have a few small openings left and I’ll be posting about our Hobbit/LOTR flash day on September 22nd. I’m finishing up one last flash piece before posting all available flash.

Our goodbye party is September 25th 12-6pm, see our post for details. The following day from 9am-2pm will be our clear out sale! We hope to see you there!!

We're hosting a few events near the end of September after our last day of tattooing to say goodbye to all of you beautiful souls! Thank you so much for your support and for 4 beautiful years in Summerland. We are very excited for this next chapter and will hold our time here close to our hearts. 💖

Some really fun tattoo projects back in July!! I will truly miss this community so much when we move but don’t worry, I will be back to guest spot! Send us a message if you’d like to join one (or both) of our email lists. That group of wonderful folks will be the first to know when we’re in the area.

I hope everyone is safe and is doing okay after everything that has been happening. We're back in the studio again and tattooing. It has been such a pleasure to welcome some familiar faces (and new ones too) into our safe space after such a scary time. Sending you all so much love and kindness right now. 💖

Thank you for your patience while waiting for new posts! Instagram is an absolute nightmare for me to post on (it deletes my posts when trying to upload, deletes my drafts, and automatically puts a weird dark filter on pictures unless I screenshot them first). So I'm praying these make it through to you. Here's a whole bunch of small ones I've had a lot of fun with recently. Big or small, I love them all!!!!

Goodmorning everyone! We have an update for our wonderful clients:

As of this morning (August 18th) the downtown area of Summerland has been downgraded to an evacuation alert. We are still keeping those who are booked in today and tomorrow as rescheduled and postponed as we will need to go in to deep clean, check our equipment, and contact Interior Health.

Another option is we can grab our equipment at least and work out of a studio in Penticton. We are still taking it day by day and not quite ready to reopen yet but hopefully soon. We will keep you updated if we have any new information to share!

Thank you so much for your patience as we take a little bit of time to figure out our next steps to assess and get cleaned up for you. We will keep you updated and if you need to postpone, cancel, or have any questions, please email us at [email protected] and we would be happy to help.

New bookings are still on hold at this time until we reschedule everyone affected and then we will be reaching out to new clients.

Also we would like to say a huge thank you to the fire fighters, the city, and everyone working so hard to keep us safe. The community has really stepped up as well and we are all taking care of each other during this difficult time. We love calling Summerland home. Thank you so much! 🥰

It’s been a crazy week.. I thought I would repost this De havilland canadair 515 tattoo I did back in May because we are just so freakin thankful for the first responders. I’m unsure if this model of aircraft is being used to fight the Bald Range wildfire but we’ve seen planes and helicopters constantly going out.

It’s been a week away from home, we evacuated to Penticton and staying with Dea. I’m grateful that we have our best friend here and we have a safe space to be. My heart goes out to everyone, especially the ones that have lost everything. My thoughts are with you and I’m sending all the love your way. 💕

We’ve been keeping it very lowkey and I’m mostly trying to keep my doggo calm, he’s very much ready to go home. 🥺 After about the third day, my rabbit chilled out and is as happy as a little old dude can be now.

Currently the studio is closed because it is in the evacuation zone and once the area opens up we’ll need to find out what the smoke damage is like. We are putting a pause on booking clients in until we know what’s going on and we’ll be in touch with appointments coming up.

Thank you to our amazing clients for checking in with us, we’re thinking about you too and hope you’re staying safe. 🥰

A little update from our story that we wanted to post here so no one misses it before it disappears.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been checking in, and we have also been checking in with our wonderful clients. We know so many of you who have been affected by this fire. Our hearts are so heavy and wishing you and your families and animals are safe. ❤️‍🩹

We are so thankful to be apart of such a giving community during such a hard time. We are all supporting each other in any way we can. The Bean Team is all safe and currently in Penticton with our animals.

We will continue to take it day by day, and update clients when we can. Stay safe everyone, and there's some wonderful resources on the RDOS website as well as Facebook and Instagram for our community. Wishing you all safety and love.

Some super fun stained glass inspired panels wrapping around an arm! Can you recognize the games that each one is from? This whole project took approximately 5 sessions I think (First one was lining, then a session for each panel to colour it in, and then touch ups at the end). I tried to get pictures along the way, I tend to be very in the moment with bigger pieces so I always miss before and even sometimes after pictures. 😂

Anyways, thanks again for your patience and trust with such a large and fun concept! I would love to do more like this. 🥰

The Xerces blue butterfly went extinct in the early 1940s due to human activity and urban development. It’s important to remember that humans aren’t the only species on this planet. 🌎

I also added a healed photo of a sunflower flash piece I had the pleasure of tattooing a couple years ago (I think??? Time is flying!). 🌻

Soft and dainty Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice with some apple blossoms! I looove creating custom tarot cards so much. I'm so behind on posting so I'm so sorry if you are waiting to see your magnificent masterpiece, Instagram just loves to glitch out on me a lot. That being said though, whether I post your piece or not, I appreciate each and every tattoo (big and small) no matter what. Our time here in the Okanagan is coming to a close so fast and I've just been so grateful lately to live my best creative life. Thank you soooo much! 💘🌸
