Perth County Players Community Theatre for the Love of it! Whether on stage, backstage, or as a part of the management team, we are all volunteers.

Perth County Players was formed in 2008 to provide the opportunity to share in the amazing experience that is community theatre.

Our tag line says it all “Community theatre for the love of it". We come together for the love of our community in Perth County and the love of theatre. Together we have put on over 20 productions from such big shows as Oliver!, Hello Dolly!, Into the Woods, The Odd Couple as well as showcasing some rare musicals like My Favourite Year, Some Enchanted Evening and Godspell to name a few. We take great pride in being a part of many of Perth County's residents' annual traditions of performing, volunteering, and attending performances.

Meet Our Yente & Lazar Wolf: Elizabeth Thorpe-Hearn and Preston James Nott

In the circle of our little village, Anatevka is held together by its unforgettable personalities — and this season, two of its most iconic figures step into the spotlight with humour, heart, and irresistible charm.

Yente, the matchmaker, is a woman rooted in tradition, proud of her calling, and never without a piece of news to deliver. She arrives at every doorstep carrying once‑in‑a‑lifetime news, certain she can find every one of them a perfect match. Elizabeth Thorpe‑Hearn brings warmth, wit, and beautifully grounded authenticity to the woman who keeps Anatevka connected — through tradition, through matchmaking, and, of course, through just a little well‑placed gossip.

And then there's Lazar Wolf, the boisterous butcher whose booming confidence and sharp humour make him impossible to ignore. The richest man in the village — who has cast his eye on Tzeitel — Lazar storms through the story with loud pride and unforgettable comedic flair. Newcomer Preston Nott infuses Lazar with bold energy, vibrant timing, and a wonderfully human touch that makes the character roar to life onstage.

Audiences won’t want to miss Elizabeth’s vibrant, witty, heartfelt Yente and Preston’s laugh‑filled, larger‑than‑life Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof. Their performances blend humour with emotional depth, delivering two characters who are uproarious, touching, and deeply human. Tickets available at https://www.perthcountyplayers.com/.

Who does mama teach to tend, and mend, and fix? The Daughters, of course! It’s time to meet Tevye and Golde’s three oldest daughters; Tzeitel, Hodel, and Chava.

This year, P*P is welcoming three talented young women to take on the iconic roles. Alexandria, a P*P returnee, is the devoted and trailblazing eldest daughter, Tzeitel. P*P newcomer Anne Paulson is Hodel, the feisty and witty second eldest. And Aviva Goad, another P*P newcomer, plays the sweet and earnest middle daughter, Chava.

Meet Our Goldes: Kate Beath and Sally Bryant

In Anatevka, Golde is the quiet force that keeps the world turning — steady, sharp‑witted, and endlessly practical. This season, Perth County Players is proud to present two remarkable performers who bring her to life with depth, humour, and unmistakable heart. Kate Beath and Sally Bryant each illuminate a different facet of Golde’s strength, revealing just how many ways love, tradition, and resilience can shape a family.

Audiences will not want to miss Kate and Sally’s portrayals of Golde in Fiddler on the Roof. Their performances carry strength, tenderness, and unmistakable character, each shaped by genuine feeling and lived experience. Both bring a deeply moving interpretation to the role, and experiencing both of their Goldes is truly rewarding. Tickets are available at https://www.perthcountyplayers.com/.
